"Marriage is one of the greatest things that can happen in your life, but it's up to you to make that one of the greatest steps you take in life." My dad told me that once when I voiced to him that I want to get married one day and I couldn't have agreed with him more. Marriage is the holy matrimony between two individuals to have and to hold for richer or for poor,in sickness and in health, and for better or worse. With the right young lady I believe I can do all of those things in a marriage with. However at the age of 16,I don't believe i'm ready for marriage.
To begin with, marriage is a very big and mature step for anyone to take.I think I can take that step but not at this age. Right now,i'm just focusing on school, family, and my career and it's hard enough worrying about those three so the responsibilities of being a husband and being in a marriage would just add on a little more pressure. I still have some maturing to do before I try being married. Marriage takes compromise, patience, understanding and among other things. I'm still working on those things, because honestly with the way I am now,it just wouldnt't work out the way I planned it would.
Don't get me wrong,I'd love to have a tremendously long and healthy marriage one day. I'd love for my wife and I to share and build a love like no other. I mean who wouldn't desire to have someone to build a family with,to care for,to experience a variety of emotions with and etc. To have someone that you can connect with in a significant way and be able to do that for the rest of your life is truly amazing. I'd make sure that I have that special connection with my wife. I'd also make sure that I am very superb with taking on the responsibility of raising my children. In all,i'd love to be a terrific husband and trememdous father one day.
On the other hand, these days you don't too much see marriages that are truly happy. Most of the marriages i see are tumultuous and in the process of becoming divorced and only a few marriages I see are very loving and happy. Seeing those marriages makes me determined to make my marriage more and more amazing when I have mine. Also,I really don't find young women who are wife and marriage material. They're not being faithful, committed, mature and other qualities needed for marriage.Honestly majority of the young men and women my age are just looking for entertainment for what's in their pants anyway,so the thought of marriage would most likely scare them. They are just looking to be young, wild and free while they can.I actually can't blame them for that but hopefully one day they'll be ready and mature enough to take that big step towards marriage.
In conclusion, marriage is a great blessing, but it's a big step that takes maturity and time. I ,for one, am taking my time on making that step before I end up making a mistake. I want to make sure I've got my priorities straight and i'm at a point in my life where I can be in a committed marriage like I want to be. When I get into my early twenty's and have finished college,I believe i'd be ready to experience the joy of marriage. As that time approaches,I won't be trying to find the young lady I can live with,i'll be looking for the young lady I can't live without.

Controversy With The President Of Chick-Fil-A
As a child growing up,there were alot of familyrestaurants and fast food places to eat at. McDonalds,Ryan's,Burger King,China Inn,Picadilly's,Chick-Fil-A and plenty others were great places for families to enjoy great food. When I was growing up,there were nothing but great times spent at those places. Everybody loved those restaurants and fast food places and had no problems with them. However,now-a-days for one of those fast food places it's a different story.
The Chick-Fil-A president,Dan Cathy, stirred up some controversy when he stated his views on same sex marriage in an interview he did with the Baptist Press. He stated "When it comes to legalizing same-sex marriage,I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage and I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about." That made alot of Chick-Fil-A customers and non customers happy that he said that and a very large amount of people angry,a large amount of them were homosexuals. Cathy's statement on same-sex is really giving Chick-Fil-A bad press and bad business. In my opinion,Dan Cathy was seriously wrong for the statements he made about same-sex marriage. I mean, who is he to judge them and use God against them like that.
I think that Dan is courageous for putting his views out there like that, because of his religion. However, putting those views out there came with a territory of hurting alot of people that are homosexual. I understand that he is just using his freedom of speech to point out his opinion and I don't blame him for standing up for his opinion. However,i believe he could've just kept his opinion to hisself, because he is making it very uncomfortable for his LGBT customers to hang out,buy and enjoy their food there. As a businessman,he really should've known that that was going to start controversy. Now alot of homosexuals and transexuals are scared to even walk into Chick-Fil-A restaurants to buy food, because they're afraid they're going to get jumped or gay bashed. That's very sad to me. People are scared to enjoy their food now all because of one person's opinion. I mean wouldn't you want to be able to enjoy food from a great restaurant with no worries or fears that something bad will happen to you? I know I would. Honestly,I just believe Dan Cathy should've kept his opinion to hisself.
